COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — San Francisco State wrestlers
Kurtis Clem and
Mason Boutain have been named to the 2017-18 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wrestling Honor Roll.
Thirty-four total wrestlers were honored. Ten were named to the All-Academic First Team and the remaining 24 were named to the Honor Roll. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters and carry a cumulative 3.30 grade point average (GPA).
A 149-lb. redshirt freshman from Chico, California, Clem boasts an impressive 3.73 GPA. The Dietetics major scored six wins this season, capped by a Feb. 8 major decision over Menlo's Sebastian Marin.
Boutain is a 157-lb. redshirt freshman from Benicia, California and carries a 3.42 GPA. He was an
All-RMAC First Team selection after winning the
RMAC Championship at 157 pounds. This season, the Nursing major earned Gator of the Week twice and took third place in the 157-lb. bracket at the Menlo College Open with a 5-1 day.
SF State Wrestling was ranked as high as 25 this season and sent two individuals —
Brandon Vu (125 lb.) and No. 5
Nathan Cervantez (133 lb.) — to the 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Wrestling National Championships in Iowa.
