Shokoor and Van Sickel Named to All-CCAA Team

Farrah Shokoor and Angela Van Sickel Were Each Named to the 2013 All-CCAA Women's Basketball Team


WALNUT CREEK – SF State's women's basketball players Farrah Shokoor and Angela Van Sickel were named to the 2013 All-CCAA Women's Basketball Team as announced by the conference office this morning, each being named to the Second Team.
 
Shokoor averaged a team high 11.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while also leading the team with her 88 steals, 49 assists and 17 steals.  Her 88 steals also leads the CCAA and is currently 10th in the nation.  She recorded four double-doubles this season to give her nine for her career. 
 
Van Sickel averaged 11.5 points per game this season while connecting on a team high 55 three's.  She also dished out 40 assists and recorded 38 this past season.  The junior guard is currently third on the Gators' all-time career three-point field goals made list with 120.  Her 55 three's places her also third on the single season list. 
 
This is the first time for both Shokoor and Van Sickel for being named to the All-CCAA Team.
 
The Gators finished the regular season with a 12-14 overall record and a 9-11 record in the CCAA.  SF State finished in eighth place and will face #15 Chico State this evening on the road in a First Round CCAA Basketball Championship Tournament game in Chico, Calif. 
 
UC San Diego's Daisy Feder was named the CCAA Most Valuable Player while Cal St. Monterey Bay's Nikki Beckman was selected as the Newcomer of the Year.  Cydnie Jones of Cal Poly Pomona was named the league's Freshman of the Year and Chico State's Brian Fogel was selected as the Coach of the Year as voted on by the 12 head coaches of the CCAA.
