Chad Delaney Had 6 Points on Two Three's in the Gators' Final Exhibition Game at UOP
STOCKTON, Calif.---The University of Pacific Tigers used a strong second half as they pulled away from the visiting SF State Gators, 71-54.  Nefi Perdomo paced the Gators with 11 points while Lorenzo McCloud led the Tigers with 15 points.  This was the Gators final exhibition game before opening up their regular season this weekend in Chico.

“We need to learn how to deal with adversity,” said SF State Head Coach Paul Trevor.  “Going into this weekend's season opener, we have to stop turning the ball over and get better defensively.”

The Gators opened up the first five minutes of the game on an 11-2 run capped by a Casey James lay-up.  Chad Delaney's three off an assist from Thomas Nesbitt with 9:34 left in the half gave the Gators their largest lead of the half, 20-10.

The University of Pacific chipped away at their visitors' lead and took a 27-25 lead as the half ended on Khalil Kelley's, who finished with 13 points,  dunk off a Tiger missed shot.

SF State was plagued by foul trouble in the first half and played 14 minutes without First Team All-CCAA performer, Nefi Perdomo, who had two fouls in the first six minutes.  The Gators also had two players with three fouls in the first half and one with four.

The Gators retook the lead, 32-31, in the first four minutes of the second half on a three by Perdomo.  The University of Pacific came back though and went on a 18-6 run to take a 49-38 lead with a little under 10 minutes to go in the game.
The Tigers increased their lead to 71-52 late in the game as they held on for the 71-54 victory in both team's final exhibition game of the 2011-12 regular season.

SF State will open up its 2011-12 regular season this weekend as they travel to Chico, Calif., to participate in the Carl's Jr. Mac Martin Tournament of Chico State University.  They will face the Academy of Art in the opening game of the tournament this Saturday, Nov. 12 at 12:30pm.
