SAN FRANCISCO--- SF State baseball player
Pat Haugen (Cayucos, California, Cuesta College) has been named to the 2010 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II All-West Region Team as announced this afternoon. Haugen is one of four starting pitchers selected to the First Team including Pitcher of the Year, Matt Rossman of UC San Diego.
Earlier this month, Haugen was named to the First Team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) as well as the Daktronics, Inc. All-West Region Second Team. He also was named the SF State Male Athlete of the Year on May 4 at the SF State Student-Athlete Awards Banquet.
Haugen finished this season with an 8-4 overall record while posting a 2.53 earned run average. He also struck out 114 batters while walking just 31 in 92.1 innings pitched.
The senior pitcher had nine complete games including two shutouts this past season and is currently third in the nation with his 114 strikeouts. Besides recording 8 victories, Haugen had two saves for the Gators who finished the season with a 22-32 overall record.
