Kendra Wood Garners All-CCAA Honors for Third Straight Year

Kendra Wood received All-CCAA accolades for the third straight season on Wednesday.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. San Francisco State junior Kendra Wood (San Jose, Calif., Lynbrook HS) has been named to the 2010 All-California Collegiate Athletic Association second team, the league office announced Wednesday. The award marks the third straight conference honor for Wood, who was a first-team selection in 2009 and a second-team choice in 2008.
 
Wood batted .317 in 41 games this past season with three home runs and 22 RBI, earning 22 starts at designated player and nine at four different infield positions. She led the Gators with a .515 slugging percentage and a .403 on-base percentage, while tying for the team lead with nine doubles.
 
Wood also appeared in 15 games as a pitcher, recording four saves, which is tied for the top spot in the CCAA and currently ranks eighth in the nation. In 29.1 innings, the San Jose, Calif., product struck out 24 batters and combined on two shutouts, while posting a 3.82 earned run average.
 
For her career, Wood ranks sixth on SF State’s all-time list with 28 doubles and 13 home runs.
 
The Gators completed their 2010 campaign on April 24, finishing with a 20-33 overall record and a 13-23 mark in the CCAA.
