INDIANAPOLIS--- In the latest NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Statistics report that was released this morning, the SF State Gators are still ranked in the top 25 in three defensive categories. The Gators, under the direction of head coach Bill Treseler, are 6th in field goal percentage defense, 7th in scoring defense, and 22nd in three-point field goal percentage defense. SF State is 13-6 overall and 6-5 in the CCAA, which places them in a tie for sixth place with Chico State.
The Gators are allowing their opponents to just 37.4% shooting from the field, which places them sixth while Lincoln Memorial leads the nation at 35.4%. SF State is also only giving up 58.1 points per game, which is seventh in the nation while Clark Atlanta is only giving up 50.6 points per game to lead the nation. The 29% three-point field goal percentage by the Gators’ opponents is 22nd while Johnson C. Smith is allowing it opponents to just 24.3% which leads the nation.
Five Gators are in the top 25 in nine statistical categories in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) stats report that released late yesterday evening.
Marquel Hoskins (Beloit, Wisconsin, Reedley College) leads the CCAA in assists and steals and is 5
th in scoring, 7
th in assist/turnover ratio, 13
th in field goal percentage, and 20
th in rebounding. Junior guard
Phoenix O'Rourke (San Mateo, California, Junipero Serra) is second in the league in steals and three-point field goals made per game and is 25
th in scoring while
Nefi Perdomo (Oakland, California, Skyline ) is 15
th in free throw percentage and 19
th in scoring.

Derek Fletcher (San Jose, California, Branham) is third in blocked shots and
Tim Pratt (Eureka, California, College of the Redwoods) is 23
rd in scoring.
As a team, the Gators are in the top five in the CCAA in nine categories. They are second in scoring defense, field goal percentage defense, and three-point field goal percentage defense while they are third in scoring margin and steals. SF State is also fourth in turnover margin, blocked shots, and scoring offense and fifth in assists.
Fletcher and O’Rourke each just moved up in the Gator career statistics. Fletcher is now second with his 62 blocked shots, 8th with 443 rebounds in his career, and tied for 10th with 101 games played. O’Rourke is 6th with 90 three-point field goals made in his career and 5th with 286 three-point field goals attempted.
SF State returns to the court this weekend for a pair of road conference games. The Gators will face Cal State Stanislaus on Friday at 7:30pm in Turlock. Then on Saturday, they will travel to Chico for a 7:30pm conference game with Chico State.
