Walnut Creek, Calif.--- SF State's Anna Bretan (Novato, California, University of San Francisco) was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Female Runner of the Week for the week of Oct. 6-12, as announced by the CCAA Office this afternoon.

            Bretan, a senior from Novato, Calif., turned in an impressive showing at the SF State Invitational on Saturday. The Gators' senior completed the 6,000-meter run in a personal-best time of 21:52 to finish second, only seven seconds behind individual champion, Katie Theisen of St. Thomas. The 2008 CCAA Track & Field 5,000 meter champion helped the Gators to a sixth place finish out of 11 teams.

            This was the Gators' last meet before they participate in the CCAA Championships on October 25 in San Bernardino, California.
